FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:Contact:Teddie O’Keefe Principals of Smith O'Keefe and Associates, prominent regional marketing firm, announce agreement to transfer operations to senior managerEgg Harbor Township, NJ – August 9, 2007 -- Teddie O’Keefe, Ken and Marianne Smith, principals of Smith O'Keefe and Associates, have signed an agreement to transfer operations of the firm to senior manager Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt, effective November 1, 2007. Smith O'Keefe was formed in 1998 as a merger of already prominent regional marketing firms Smith & Co., founded in 1971, and O'Keefe Marketing & Public Relations, founded in 1988. The firm provides marketing, public relations, advertising and Internet services to regional, national and international clients from headquarters in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. "After so many years in business, Ken, Marianne and I felt it was time to move on to other pursuits dear to our hearts, while leaving what we have built in very capable hands," said Teddie O'Keefe, president of Smith O'Keefe. "Susan has proven to be not only highly capable and passionate in helping us build the business, but she also has the leadership qualities that gave us confidence to turn over the business to a new generation." Under the agreement, Adelizzi-Schmidt will acquire Smith O’Keefe existing accounts, with current principals providing guidance and collaboration to ensure a seamless transition. Current principals will maintain offices in the firm's office building and continue to provide consulting services to the firm's clients, as well as participate in joint venture partnerships. "To our clients and vendors, very little will change during the transition," said Adelizzi-Schmidt. "We will continue providing the high standards of service upon which this firm has built an unequaled reputation for so many years. New energy and expanded services will only enhance our relationship with our valued clients and the many service providers with whom we partner every day." While current partners, Teddie O'Keefe, Ken and Marianne Smith will be reducing their workload, they will not be completely retiring either. Teddie O'Keefe will continue to provide high-level public relations services for a select few clients as well as consulting services as one of America's leading authorities on marketing within the golf and hospitality industries. Ken Smith, a noted authority on brand development and brand strategy in the US, will continue to provide brand and web consulting services to a select clientele. In addition, he will be focusing on several major Internet venture partnerships in the US and England.
